What I will share in this article is my simple ways to live with gluten-intolerance easier.

Simple Ways to Live With Gluten-Intolerance Easier

Do Research

The first step when you are diagnosed with celiac disease would be to get your tests done. It is overwhelming when you don’t know what you can eat or what celiac disease really is. Learning about celiac disease and understanding cross-contamination could be a great relief. There is more stress associated with this unknown. I searched the internet for reliable sites to find these facts and information. It was strangely comforting to know that a huge population of people have the same diagnosis.

Find Gluten-Free Food That Taste Delicious

Simple Ways to Live With Gluten-Intolerance EasierSometimes, gluten-free bread tastes nasty in our mouths. But then, I found some gluten-free bread that tastes so good. So, what I suggest here is that not all gluten-free foods taste bad. You just need to find gluten-free foods that taste good. There are so many great varieties made with rice and quinoa. Really, living with celiac disease isn’t so bad if you can eat the types of foods you used to eat, just without the gluten.

Look at the Menus Before Going to the Restaurant

Aside from the gluten-free stuff, though, there’s nothing more overwhelming than walking into a restaurant and finding out that there’s only one thing on the menu that you can eat. Using Yelp, the restaurant website, has allowed me to do this excess research before eating out. I know exactly what I’m going to buy before I get home. I’ve found that it makes eating out less stressful, and I don’t have to feel embarrassed to ask the table if something is gluten-free or not.

Take It Easy

Yes, sometimes I get tired of people thinking gluten-free is just a fad, but it doesn’t matter what people think at the end of the day. An essential thing that we should do to stay healthy is to set our mindset and make light of the situation. Don’t push your brain to think that much. Having celiac disease is not the end of the world. There are many ways we can do to live happier and healthier even with this condition.

Let Your Loved Ones Know Your Condition

Last but not least, a great way to protect yourself would be to let your loved ones and friends know about some of the favorite brands you’ve come across. There is nothing worse than visiting family and finding out no gluten-free alternatives far and wide. However, in many conditions, when I run out the door and fail, it’s so nice to have a parent or relative who knows the type of products I like to eat and can have some ready to choose for me. Also, it’s not nice not to attend a class meal because most of the time, family and friends have to provide options, but they will become knowledgeable and help alleviate some of the stress associated with eating at their home.
